Welcome

Welcome from Mr Ashdown, CEO of the Valley Invicta Academies Trust and Interim Principal of SST Maidstone

This is very exciting time for the parents and young people of Maidstone. An established trust with an outstanding reputation is opening a secondary school offering unique educational opportunities.

Thank you for your interest in SST Maidstone. We are a new school , opening in September 2018 , being developed by the Valley Invicta Academies Trust with the support of our strategic partner, SST Singapore.

SST students will benefit from an education specialising in Science and Technology in purpose built , state of the art buildings on our Maidstone campus. SST graduates will leave with a highly desirable combination of outstanding exam results and a unique skill set of core competencies. SST is not a vocational school focussing purely on practical skills. Students  will learn by thinking and doing, with an equal emphasis on both.

As a VIAT school our values and ethos will reflect those of our other established and highly respected schools. All VIAT schools work within an ethos of Outstanding Care .Education Education and Outstanding opportunities and SST will be no different. Much more detail on this can be found in the about us section of this website .

Our expectation is that like our other secondary schools on the Maidstone campus , SST Maidstone will be hugely popular. If this particular educational offer appeals to you then we look forward to receiving your application.

Welcome from Mrs Chan, Principal of SST Singapore

The School of Science and Technology, Singapore (SST) believes that nurturing innovators who are adept at applying Science, Technology, Engineering, Aesthetics and Mathematics (STEAM) will be key to shaping the  21st century. To this end, we embrace partnerships with like-minded peers, such as the team behind the School of Science and Technology, Maidstone (SST, Maidstone), to create compelling experiences for young learners.

Our exchange was first initiated when a team from Valley Invicta Academies Trust (VIAT) visited SST in 2014 on a learning journey to observe lessons and exchange best practices in teaching. We were both humbled and delighted to learn that the visit had inspired the conception of SST Maidstone and welcome the opportunity to help the team develop a rigorous programme for their students.

Schools managed by VIAT have helped many students realise their potential over the years; SST Maidstone is set to build on this impressive legacy by helping budding innovators find success.
