History- War Diaries

This week in History, students have been hard at work researching what life was like for British and German soldiers living and fighting in the trenches on the Western Front. This resulted in students creating a wealth of fantastic diaries, poems and letters home taking on the role of a soldier. Students rose to the challenge, writing contemporary pieces, showing their empathy with the horrors and sadness of war. This piece of work allowed students to apply their historical knowledge and understanding, combining this with their creative skills from Art and English. Well done Year 8!
