World Mental Health Day- Cookie and chat
Encouraging young people to talk about their feelings and share their mental health experiences was highlighted this week by TV broadcaster Susanna Reid in A Tonight Special, ‘Can Britain get Talking’. In the programme, Susanna interviewed school children and their families about the struggles they face, and the length of time young people are currently waiting to be seen by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across the country.
To mark World Mental Health Day on Tuesday, the students enjoyed a ‘Cookie and Chat’ during form time. The students and their form tutors explored ways to start conversations and how to connect with people, something that sounds very simple, yet can be very difficult, especially if you are struggling with your mental health and feel isolated and alone. Here are some of the great conversations that were going on around the school on Tuesday.
