Careers and Enterprise Empower Day
On Thursday, 27 March, SST held our latest Careers and Enterprise Empower Day, a key part of our ongoing commitment to preparing students for their future beyond school. This year marked a special milestone as we proudly hosted our first-ever Careers Fair, welcoming over 20 employers and professionals from a wide range of industries.
Students from Years 7 to 11 had the opportunity to speak with representatives at the Careers Fair from sectors including STEM, public services, creative industries, and more, gaining valuable insight into possible career pathways and the skills required to succeed in them. We are incredibly grateful to all the companies and individuals who joined us to support and inspire our students.
Year 11 students also had the opportunity to have mock interviews with retired professionals from The Rotary Club, helping them build confidence, practise their communication skills, and prepare for interview experiences. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who gave their time to support this valuable opportunity.
Throughout the day, students also took part in a series of Enterprise Challenges, working in teams to create exciting projects such as War Child festivals, dream wedding events, and branding campaigns for Burberry. Each group then pitched their proposals to their peers, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, creativity, and presentation skills.
We are incredibly proud of how engaged and enthusiastic our students were throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day such a success!
